The Laced pink 'Moulin Rouge' (Dianthus 'Moulin Rouge')

is a fully hardy perennial evergreen plant with pink and white flowers in early Summer, early Autumn, late Summer and mid Summer. It grows well in direct sun, and prefers medium levels of water. The flowers are explosion shaped.

Dianthus 'Moulin Rouge' grows in soils ranging from a pH of 6.5 (slightly acidic ranges from 6.1 to 6.5) to 8.5 (alkaline ranges from 8.1 to 8.5). It is adapted to chalk, clay loam, loam, loamy sand, sandy clay loam and sandy loam soils.

It has green leaves. They are linear in shape.

A moderate pleasant scent is emitted from the flower. Scent of cloves.

  • Don't throw slug pellets on the ground in a bunch as the smell of pellets attracts snails/slugs. Instead lightly scatter them near the plants you want to protect. If you're snail friendly you will need to place them at least 300ft (100m) away from your garden as they have a strong homing instinct!
